From oil to sun dried dates, from peas to tiny animals made out of jade and packed in straw, from golden coins and precious stones to marmelade and wheat, such an amphora could contain anything, and if you couldn't read the little label on the neck, you really wouldn't know what was inside until you broke it open.
What we call metaphor today isn't anything like that at all.
A metaphor is EXTREMELY SPECIFIC and incredibly PRECISE and it tells you EXACTLY what kind of energetic content we are dealing with - no surprises at all.
For example, in a dream you might walk on a white beach with turquoise waves gentling lapping the shore and you find an opal pink sea shell in the sand.
Each part of this whole scenario is clearly defined and tells you what it is - white sand, not grey, not yellow, not a stony beach, not volcanic rock; it is specifically fine, white sand. So it goes for every component - everything can be seen, known, there are no surprises here.
There is no "hideous green" energy form lurking in the pink shell; metaphors are straight down the line, what you see is what you get.
So the metaphor of a metaphor being an undistinguished amphora that could contain anything is ... well, simply the wrong metaphor for metaphor.
And if you have the wrong metaphor for metaphor, what then?
Could that account for the fact that most people can't understand metaphor at all and certainly, their energy mind doesn't know what on Earth we're on about with these white containers that don't look like what is inside in the slightest?
It's certainly a possibility ...
